If you are reading this you may have found yourself in significant financial legal trouble or a victim of abusive, unethical or illegal business practices and you aren't sure what to do. You might have been served with a lawsuit over an old debt or are being pursued aggressively on a civil judgment. You may have just had your bank account or paycheck garnished, your vehicle repossessed, or you are just sick and tired of the endless barrage of collection letters and phone calls. Whatever your situation, I am here to help.
I am Alex McClure, and over the past ten years I litigated thousands of lawsuits against consumer and commercial debtors to recover money due utilizing every available mechanism allowed under Florida law. I zealously represented the interests of some of the largest creditors and debt buyers both in and out of the courtroom to ensure my clients were collecting the maximum amount of money they were entitled to.
Now, I represent people like you. Members of my community who are facing serious consumer protection or legal financial issues who stand to benefit from my unique background. From my years of both negotiation and litigation experience I am able to offer a unique perspective on situations like yours to help you find realistic answers to your legal problems. My primary goal is to help you find solutions to create a sustainable financial future for yourself.
Why Represent Consumers Now?
After almost a decade of representing the interests of creditors and debt buyers in consumer collections and litigation it was time for me to move on. While the work was exciting and engaging from a lawyering perspective, I simply didn't feel comfortable representing those interests any longer.
Throughout my years of litigating for creditors and debt buyers I realized that there was a genuine need for an attorney in the bankruptcy/debt and consumer legal market with a deep insight into the creditor's side of the practice, not simply a view from the perspective of the consumer. I am honored to now be in a position to counsel and represent members of my community throughout what is undoubtedly one of the most difficult times of their lives. I proudly bring all of the knowledge and skills I acquired litigating for creditors and debt buyers to your side of the case to provide nothing short of excellent legal counsel and representation based on practical experience.
Put An End To Uncertainty
Make no mistake about it, consumer and financial legal issues in a person's life can create a multitude of other problems if not addressed promptly and effectively. The internet provides a wealth of information catered to the consumer seeking advice on debt collection, bankruptcy, and consumer law, however, in my experience this abundance of information has done more harm than good for consumers.
The endless variation of advice and information in articles and blog posts all over the internet quickly becomes daunting and overwhelming. After reading one article you feel like you have some solid advice and then after reading another you may be concerned that your situation is even worse than you initially thought or that there is no real help available to you. Put an end to the confusion and conflicting advice by scheduling a free consultation with me so that you can get straightforward guidance tailored specifically for you.
Experience That Matters
I have litigated thousands of debt collection and contracts cases all across Florida and I have personally seen already difficult situations get worse when a consumer makes the mistake of choosing an attorney who doesn't have significant experience in consumer and collections law when defending their lawsuit.
Both Florida and Federal law provide powerful protections for Florida consumers. Attorneys who do not specialize in consumer and collections law might not be aware of some of the most fundamental protections available to Florida consumers and may inadvertently waive essential defenses or potential counterclaims through general pleading and practice as opposed to specific, focused representation. I have experience negotiating and litigating thousands of contracts lawsuits and filing countless wage and bank garnishments to collect money due to creditors and debt buyers. Simply put, I know from experience what works and what doesn't when it comes to litigating and defending these types of cases.
In this field of law, anything other than a full and complete understanding of consumer and collection law could result in an inadequate defense of your case, waiver of your rights, and potential loss of your money and property. Whether its a consumer protection lawsuit or a debt collection case, rely on my experience to guide you through the process from start to finish with confidence.
Strategic Guidance When Needed Most
If you are considering bankruptcy, my years of representing creditors in Florida through settlement negotiations and litigation have provided me with a thorough understanding of the property exemptions available to Florida consumers and their appropriate and strategic use.
The proper consideration and application of these exemptions is quite literally the key determining factor in deciding what property you will be able to keep. These exemptions must be affirmatively asserted, meaning that you must specifically and appropriately raise them to be able to benefit from them. They do not automatically apply to your case simply because you have filed for bankruptcy.
This is just one of many reasons why it's critical that you choose an attorney with extensive experience working with these exemptions and who has a deep understanding of your specific case and who cares about your particular financial goals. Simply because you qualify for a bankruptcy filing doesn't mean that bankruptcy is the best option for you.
During our consultation, I will discuss with you how we might put together a plan to protect what's important to you and to strategically let go of what isn't. Just because you're considering bankruptcy doesn't mean you don't have options.
